About Captain Will Adams
Growing up on Folly Beach not only gave me an appreciation for this area, it gave me a knowledge that was taught to me from the time I could talk. With my Grandfather being the first mayor of Folly, I grew up with a different sense of how unique and special it truly is. My family was always doing something to enjoy everything Folly has to offer-from camping at Civil War sites, to finding Indian pottery, and enjoying the wildlife. My earliest memory is fishing with my Grandfather and bringing in my first fish, I was hooked. As I got older, my passion for fishing only intensified and I found myself working to support my habit so-to-speak. I worked as an iron worker for 17 years, making sure I could work around my fishing schedule, which was difficult at best. I never thought I could make a living doing what I loved. I found myself taking days off work to teach people what I knew, and it hit me like a ton of bricks when I was unexpectedly paid by someone who I took out fishing. After years of saving, studying, and taking the Captain’s test, I finally had the credentials to do what I love every day. The best thing I have to offer other than my years of experience and knowledge, is that I understand and appreciate how important each trip is. I put my all into each and every trip to make sure it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience every time.
